HowTo Schema
Markup for step-by-step instructions, labelling each step in order. Useful for anything procedural, and easy for an assistant to reproduce accurately.
Related terms
FAQPage Schema
Markup that labels questions and their answers as questions and answers. It is the most direct way to hand an assistant something it can quote in full without swallowing the surrounding page.
Well-Known URI
A standard location, always under /.well-known/, where machines look for information about a site — security contacts, API catalogues, agent details. Putting files there means they can be found without being linked.
Chunking
Splitting a long page into smaller passages so an AI can retrieve just the relevant part. Pages with clear headings chunk cleanly; a single unbroken wall of text does not.
Reinforcement Learning
Training by trial, error and reward rather than by examples. It is how models are tuned to be helpful and to refuse things they should refuse.
AI Policy Page
A public page stating how a business uses AI and what it does with customer data. Increasingly expected, and cheap to write honestly.
Temperature
A setting that controls how predictable an AI’s output is. Low temperature gives safe, repeatable answers; high temperature gives varied, more surprising ones — useful for ideas, risky for facts.
