Answer Box
A boxed answer at the top of a results page, lifted from one page and credited to it. Winning one usually means having answered the question plainly and early rather than burying it.
Related terms
BreadcrumbList Schema
Markup describing where a page sits in the site’s hierarchy. It helps both search engines and assistants understand that a page is a service under a category, not a stray document.
AI Policy Page
A public page stating how a business uses AI and what it does with customer data. Increasingly expected, and cheap to write honestly.
AI Overviews
The written summary Google now places above its search results, assembled from several pages and citing a few of them. Appearing inside one can bring visitors; being left out of one can quietly cost you the clicks you used to get.
Explainability
How well a system can show why it reached a decision. It matters most where the decision affects somebody — a loan, a diagnosis, a job application — and “the model said so” is not an answer.
Organization Schema
Structured data describing the business itself: name, logo, address, contact details, social profiles. The single most useful markup for being recognised, and the one most small sites are missing.
Sentiment Analysis
Automatically judging whether text is positive, negative or neutral. Used to read reviews and messages at a scale nobody could read by hand.
